Unicast Hammermill Alloy Hammers, Ring, and Paddle Hammers

Tough. Durable. Cost-efficient. Unicast offers design and wear life analysis with three common alloys for improved wear life: M2, M2 with tungsten carbide insert, and WR1 cast quench and tempered steel. Optional chrome carbide overlay available for M2 and WR1 materials for extended wear life.

In the case of the Lafarge plant at Fredonia, results were impressive. The Unicast M2 (manganese alloy with chromium content) hammer was used to increase strength and the shape was redesigned to eliminate elongation of the pin hole and cracking. Weight was reduced by 13% while wear life was increased by 350%.
